Kadampa Meditation Center Washington

International Meditation Center & Temple for World Peace

Kadampa Meditation Center Washington

Kadampa Meditation Center Washington is located in Seattle and is the largest center for Kadampa Buddhism in the Northwest. The center offers a complete range of meditation courses and retreats: weekly drop in classes, day workshops, short and long retreats, and in-depth study programs. There are more than 12 branch locations around the Puget Sound area offering weekly introductory classes. The center also hosts the annual Northwest Dharma Celebration, a major gathering of practitioners who come to enjoy a special weekend of spiritual teachings and practice.

Our Community

Our Center is supported by a warm and dedicated community of students who work hard to make the Temple’s events and activities possible.

Resident students live in two houses adjacent to the Temple. Dharma students who wish to share a home with others practicing Buddha’s teachings can apply for rooms as they become available.

We gladly welcome newcomers to our community. Please stop by during our open hours and ask questions.

Our Bookstore

Our bookstore features the books of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Through his kindness Western readers now have access to Buddha’s teachings at whatever level they wish to practice. Though these books are based on the ancient texts of great Buddhist Teachers, they are clear and accessible to modern readers and have been translated into numerous languages.

In addition, our bookstore carries prayer booklets (sadhanas), CDs, posters, statues, prayer beads, postcards, and other beautiful items.
